Hot-Melt Adhesive (diaper construction)

Mixed · 6/10, higher is cleaner

How we reached this

Styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) or similar rubber-based hot-melt glue used to bond diaper layers. No skin contact at finished-product level (adhesive sits between sheets). FDA-permitted indirect food-contact polymer family. Mid-rated because the styrene monomer is an IARC 2A possible carcinogen but is bound up in the polymer with negligible migration through intact backsheets.
