How we reached this

Hydrolyzed-corn starch glucose; used as the carbohydrate base in many US infant formulas in place of lactose. AAP + WHO guidance discourages glucose-syrup-based formulas as a default vs lactose-based; the routinely-elevated glycemic profile is a recognized infant-nutrition concern (Mennella 2017).
