Sodium Polyacrylate (Superabsorbent Polymer)

How we reached this

Cross-linked sodium polyacrylate forms the gel core of every modern disposable diaper. FDA-permitted indirect food contact; large polymer not absorbed through skin. Polyacrylic-acid-residue monomer (acrylic acid) is a recognized irritant but is bound up in the polymer matrix at finished-product use levels. Mid-rated for the unavoidable single-use plastic footprint + residual monomer trace.
